I am a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. I am a political historian who focuses on civics education as a mechanism for understanding the relationship between education, equity, and democracy.

I use historical archival methods, interviews, policy analysis, and systematic reviews to contribute tools and resources that support education and social policy leaders’ incorporation of critical, collective inquiry into the fabric of policymaking and evaluation.

My research has been accepted for publication in Review of Research in Education and the American Education Research Journal, and an edited volume on PK-12 education. I have received support from the 2026-2027 National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship, Social Science Research Council, and Institute of Education Sciences.
